Economics BSc will give you a thorough understanding of economic events and processes in a global context, you will learn to think critically and independently about the issues you encounter in your studies and develop a range of skills that will support your intellectual, vocational and personal development, the first year of the course provides you with the foundations in economics, and places a heavy emphasis on history both in terms of the history of economic thought and economic history, you will increasingly be free to choose from a range of optional modules in your second and third years, allowing you to pursue your own academic interests. As part of our Economics course, you will cover elements of economics of financial markets, if you would like to study modules in Finance and Accountancy as part of your degree, you may wish to consider applying for either one of our Economics and Management or Business Management courses, which have a greater focus on these areas.
